Direct Fresh has partnered with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to strengthen workforce nutrition across Bangladesh’s garment sector. Together, we are bringing safe, affordable and nutritious food closer to factory workers and their families, supporting the people behind one of the country’s most important industries.

Through Amar Dokan outlets, Direct Fresh provides fortified staples and fresh produce directly to factory workers, helping thousands of families meet their food needs each month. Connecting food access with the workplace makes nutritious groceries more convenient to purchase and easier to include in everyday meals.

The partnership also includes nutrition awareness sessions that help workers make informed food choices. By combining nutritious food with practical knowledge, the initiative encourages healthier eating habits and gives workers the opportunity to share what they learn with their families.

Through our partnership with GAIN, we are advancing four key areas:

Expanding access to nutritious food: Bringing fortified staples and fresh produce closer to garment workers through Amar Dokan outlets, making nutritious options more accessible within their daily routines.
Strengthening nutrition awareness: Providing sessions that build workers’ understanding of everyday nutrition and encourage more informed food choices for themselves and their households.

Embedding nutrition in workforce well-being: Connecting food availability and nutrition education within a workplace-focused initiative, helping establish nutrition as an ongoing part of worker support.
